ElektroG
Information according to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)
Through our trading system, we also offer electrical and electronic equipment that falls under the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). We are therefore obliged to inform you of the following:
1. Separate collection of old electrical appliances
Electrical and electronic equipment that has become waste is called old equipment. Owners of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) must dispose of them separately from unsorted municipal waste. In particular, WEEE does not belong to household waste, but to special collection and return systems.
2. Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As a rule, owners of WEEE must separate used batteries and accumulators which are not included in WEEE before handing them over to a collection point.
3. Options for returning WEEE
Owners of WEEE from private households can hand them over at collection points of public waste management authorities or at collection points set up by producers or distributors as defined by the ElektroG. An online list of collection and take-back points can be found here: https://www.ear-system.de/ear-verzeichnis/sammel-und-ruecknahmestellen.jsf
4. Data Protection Notice
Waste often contains sensitive personal data. This applies in particular to information technology and telecommunications devices such as computers and smartphones. In your own interest, please remember that each end-user is responsible for deleting the data on the waste equipment to be disposed of.
5. Meaning of the 'crossed-out dustbin' symbol
The symbol of a crossed-out dustbin, which is regularly displayed on electrical and electronic equipment, indicates that the respective device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its life.
