Water disinfection | Special quartz glass |
Product description
Storage of drinking water leads to contamination within a few days. Bacteria form and harm your health. The best countermeasure for this is UV emitters, whose effect is based on the destruction of hereditary information transmission during cell division. As a result, bacteria die. The Reich UV-12 immersion lamp follows this principle
It consists of an immersion tube encased in special quartz glass and an electronic ballast that is used to control the power supply. Waterproof power connections and compact dimensions allow use as an immersion heater in fresh water tanks
In operation, the immersion heater is switched on by the electronic ballast for 15 minutes every 4 hours. This short time is sufficient to disturb the transmission of hereditary information during cell division and thus cause bacteria to die. Thanks to its particularly energy-saving mode of operation, the immersion heater can also be operated with a solar panel
The installation of the Reich UV-12 immersion heater is uncomplicated and can easily be done by yourself. A hole of 20.5 mm diameter is simply drilled through the tank lid or tank and a screw fitting is attached. The supply cable for the immersion heater is fed through this and the immersion heater itself is lowered to the bottom of the tank using this cable. The tank cap and the screw connection are then tightened. Now only the supply cable of the immersion heater and a 12 V supply cable from the on-board power supply or solar panel must be connected to the ballast unit - done
The disinfection performance of the Reich UV-12 immersion heater has been tested by the Hygiene Institute of the University of Heidelberg.
