The modern gas lamp – With Piezo, gas cartridge and incandescent mantle
The modern gas lamps are, in contrast to the hand lamps from old films, well equipped. In some gas lamps, you can ignite the flame by means of sparks from the Piezo ignition. For example, many gas lamps no longer even require a lighter. The gas comes from the gas cartridge which is either inserted into the gas lamp (plug-in cartridge) or screwed to the gas lamp (screw-in cartridge). This depends on the model and brand of your gas light. In modern gas lamps for camping and trekking, the gas supply can be regulated. This means that the gas lamps can not only be used for a beautiful ambience, but can also convince with high luminosity.
Important: To use a gas lamp, an incandescent mantle is almost always needed. To be on the safe side, owners of gas lamps should always have some incandescent mantles in stock.
Storm lanterns and paraffin lamps - Perfect for camping holidays
Also very atmospheric are so-called storm lanterns, which are operated with paraffin or lamp oil. It must be remembered, however, that a storm lantern that runs on lantern oil does not burn as brightly as a gas lamp does. Nevertheless, camping and gardening would be unthinkable without storm lanterns. Storm lanterns are a guarantee for a nostalgic feeling that cannot be topped by any other camping lamp.
