Shape and Flexibility of a Dome Tent

Dome tents are especially notable for their unique construction shape. The tension created by the crossed pole arches allows these tents to stand on their own without the need for additional fastening with tent pegs. Some models feature a flexible, removable outer tent, while others allow you to camp in the air-permeable, insect-protected inner tent which is ideal for dry and hot environments. This versatile design makes dome tents a great choice for various camping conditions.

Dome Tent - The Advantages

  • The lightweight design makes it perfect for trekking and backpacking.
  • The design is especially stable against wind.
  • Ideal for beginners due to a quick and easy set-up.
  • They are one of the smaller tents but still offers plenty of space.
  • Its compact size makes it easy to store and saves space.
  • They are all-rounders, perfect for pitching anywhere from flatlands to high mountains.
  • They often provide excellent seating and headroom.
  • Berger Camping offers igloo tents as two person tents, three person tents or as four person tents.

Igloo Tent - The Assembly

To assemble an igloo tent, start by connecting the tent poles, ensuring they are securely plugged together. Next, lay the tent flat on the ground with the poles crossed over it. Once the poles are properly aligned, slide them through the loops of the tent. Afterward, insert the ends of the poles into the eyelets at the corners of the tent until the dome structure begins to take shape. Once the frame is standing, secure the tent by fastening it with guy ropes to ensure stability. Finally, drape the outer tent over the structure and attach it to the inner tent to complete the setup.
