Caravan and mobile home windows
Mobile Home Windows and Caravan Windows in noble optics for retrofitting or as replacement windows. The Camping Windows from Dometic (formerly Seitz) are probably the symbol of today's caravan or mobile home windows. Almost all camping windows are made of acrylic glass. Due to its low weight and high resistance to breakage, this material is ideal for this area of application. Meanwhile, mobile home and caravan windows are double-glazed, which ensures a high level of thermal insulation.
Camping windows and roller blinds for retrofitting
Especially the S4 are probably the most sold camping windows on the market. Dometic caravan and mobile home windows cover pretty much all window sizes from over-the-counter hingedand slidingwindows. The good spare parts supply of the S4 windows rounds off the picture of the almost perfect camping window. This is because Dometic-Seitz has been used in the camping sector for many years and its consistently high quality has won it a place in the market. The frame windows can be opened or closed to allow fresh air into the interior.

Opening and sliding windows for your mobile home
There are differences in the opening mechanism of the complete windows. A distinction is made here between opening and sliding windows. With opening windows, the window pane is raised upwards-outwards. The fixation in the desired angle is done by the swing-out poles, also called window stay bars. With the new Dometic Seitz windows, these can be fixed continuously at any desired angle.
The sliding window is constructed in 2 parts. One pane slides to open, while the other is fixed in the window frame.
Which window dimension fits your mobile home or caravan?
If you want to buy or order a camping window, you need some information. The most important information is the so-called cut-out dimension. The cut-out dimension is quite brief: The size of the hole in the wall of your mobile. But before you start retrofitting your Dometic Seitz window, you should also take a look at the overall width. Because it may well be that difficulties arise, such as perhaps a wall cupboard that is too close together. With a little manual skill, however, nothing should stand in the way of installation.
Mobile Home or Caravan Blinds and Blackout Systems
Although the Seitz S4 comes with blinds, there are also older caravans and mobile homes where the cassette roller blind can break. Here we can offer you Dometic-Seitz roller blinds, but also combination pleated roller blinds and the Remis blackout system. Remis offers high quality blackout systems for the cab of most mobile homes.
Cassette roller blind and latching roller blind
If desired, you can retrofit your mobile with matching roller blinds. Here in the Camping Shop, you can choose from cassette roller blinds and latching roller blinds. Some models are coated with aluminium. This has the advantage that the heat of the sun is reflected and it remains cooler inside. The pleated blind looks classier and can contribute to insulation. Normally, you can also install the latching roller blinds where there is no room for the frame of the cassette roller blind.
Hinged or sliding window?
Hinged or sliding windows are the most common mobile home and caravan windows. Hinged windows are perfect for the kitchenette area when it is on the driver's side. The hinged window allows the kitchen steam to escape quickly and ensures good ventilation. Sliding windows are installed wherever space can be tight. In the panel van, for example, the sliding window in the path of the sliding door is a good choice.
Window installation in the camper van
You can use the Seitz mobile home windows for retrofitting panel vans. The closed VW T4, T5, T6, Sprinter, Trafic or Custom is quickly transformed into a light-flooded camper. Just take the measurement of the "window indentation" in the metal of the outer skin of your van. We have attached cut-out dimensions for common camper vans and panel vans.
Tip:You haven't found the right size frame window? Some mobile home and caravan manufacturers build special window sizes into their vehicles that are not offered in the retrofitting market (Aftermarket). In this case, you will unfortunately have to ask the respective manufacturer for a suitable camping window.
