Water Boilers
Gas boilers and hot water boilers
Elgena Boiler - KB Water Boiler with 5 Year Factory Warranty
With an Elgena small boiler or Truma water boiler you can buy pleasantly warm water for your mobile home, boat or caravan. The well-known small boilers (KB) 3 L, 5 L or 6 L tank can heat water up to 80 degrees by electricity. With the Nautic Therm water boilers, when gas and electric are combined, it is even up to 85 degrees with a tank capacity of 10 L. With a good mixing ratio and economical consumption, the amount of hot water produced in the small boiler is sufficient for a shower. The small water boilers are mainly installed in confined spaces and require only a relatively low current fuse. Please note the approved pressurebefore ordering your Elgena small boiler! The small water boilers in the camping area are low-pressure devices and can only be used for small submersible pumps, hand pumps and foot pumps! If your vehicle has an automatic pressure water pump, a low-pressure fitting must be installed with your small boiler as a matter of urgency. When the motor is running, the excess electricity is used to heat the water, so you already have hot water available on arrival.
The rule is (subject to technical changes):
- Nautic Therm water boiler - have a safety valve up to 3 bar
- Elgena small water boiler - these water heaters need low pressure regulators, operation with small immersion pump ok
Truma water boiler - innovative tradition
The Truma Boiler is in the same range as the Elgena Boiler, except that the Truma Boiler can be used for immersion and pressure pumps up to 2.8 bar. Electronic control elements, a control panel and a pressure relief valve enable carefree hot water preparation with the Truma water boiler. 10 l tank capacity are heated by liquid gas and/or electricity. The water in the Truma boiler can get up to approx. 70 degrees. With the hot water boiler in gas operation, this takes about 35 minutes and in electric mode about 45 minutes. The Truma boiler has a boost function in which gas and electric work together, so it only takes about 25 minutes to heat 10 litres of water completely. Please make sure to connect the Truma gas boiler directly to the 12 V on-board power supply or via a ballast with phono screen. To start the gas flame, the gas boiler needs a clean 12 V, which you get directly from the on-board power supply, or with a stabilising intermediate switching device (filter chain) also called a phono screen.
A newer water boiler in the Truma product range is the Camping electric boiler EL, here the 14 L tank capacity is heated completely gas-free via heating rod . The Truma boiler needs approx. 70 minutes to heat the 14 l tank content to 70 degrees.
Truma Therme and Elgena Nautic-Compact air - hot water with heated air
The well-known caravan heaters, such as the Truma Therme and the Elgena Nautic-Compact Air heat your water with the help of the fan of your caravan heater. The hot air pipe of your heater is laid through the tank of your Truma Therme TT or Elgena Nautic-Compact air and thus automatically heats your water in an energy-saving manner as soon as the caravan heater is running. However, the caravan therme can also be used without heating. The Truma Therme TT2 and the Elgena Nautic-Compact Luft are additionally equipped with an electric heating element or an electric cartridge. In the Elgena model, the temperature is self-regulating; in the TT2, a temperature controller is installed. The two hot water boilers are installed in storage boxes near the heating system. The caravan heaters are only suitable for installation in caravans.
Please empty the tank of your Truma TT before the frost! The expansion of the water can cause the tank of your Truma TT2 to burst. You saw this hint too late? No problem, the replacement container TT2 can be installed quickly and easily.
